DISTRITO 2030 DE ITALIA INVITA A TRANSMISIÓN DE CONCURSO EN HONOR A PAVAROTTI

El Distrito 2030 de Italia ha estado realizando un concurso con nuevos talentos de la ópera en honor al tenor Luciano Pavarotti. La final de este certamen será transmitida en videoconferencia a través de Internet. Adjunto los detalles en comunicación escrita en inglés a nuestro Gobernador John Richardson.
Dear Governor,
My name is Gianni Montalenti and I am the Governor of the District 2030, including the Italian regions of Piemonte, Liguria and Valle d’Aosta. (North West of Italy)
You surely remember my letter of last September to you, in which I made you aware of the initiative of our District, the sponsoring of an International Voice Competition in the name of the great Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti, unfortunately dead on September 6th 2007, open to all young singers with age between 18 and 28 years, endowed with the principal scholarship of the Rotary Foundation and two more scholarships offered by our District.
More than 200 young singers have applied to the Competition and 20 of them have been selected for the final rounds, which will take place at the Teatro Civico of Vercelli in the frame of the International Music Competition entitled to Gian Battista Viotti in the days from 16th to the 19th of the incoming December.( http://www.concorsoviotti.it/pavarottigiovanie.html )
I think that such event can be considered an important component of the Rotarian Action in favor of the New Generations and that the celebration of the great tenor Luciano Pavarotti, one of the worldwide most loved Italian musicians, which will take place in Vercelli can be an opportunity for all the Rotarians throughout the world to realize and appreciate the spirit of our great Institution.
For this reason our Committee in charge of the organization of the event has made the necessary for broadcasting the event with an international video-conference which will be on-line as follows:
From 20.30 to 22.30 of December 16th , 2010 (Central Europe Time GMT +1)
From 20.30 to ca. 24.00 of December 18th , 2010 (Central Europe Time GMT +1)

On Thursday the 16th it will be possible to follow the Final Round of the “Luciano Pavarotti Giovani” competition, whereas on Saturday the 18th it will be the turn of the “Gian Battista Viotti” with the awarding of all the prizes, including the ones of the Rotary at the presence of Elio Cerini – Board Director - in the representation of the International President Ray Klinginsmit and me.
I invite you to circulate this information by the means of the local Rotary organization and Press, so that the unique opportunity of following the event of the first Rotarian “Luciano Pavarotti Giovani” competition is granted to the highest possible number of Rotarian friends throughout the world.
